While our focus remains, for good reason, on the 21-year northern war, it is worth remembering that there are other rebel groups in the Central/East Africa region causing instability and violence. One such group, the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a mainly Muslim group, has been fighting for years from bases in DR Congo, making incursions into western Uganda. The New Vision today features the story of one girl, Imelda Bera, abducted at the age of eight by the ADF. She spent eight lonely years forced to fight with the ADF.
